We are delighted to announce that after a long pandemic-induced hiatus—our iconic Prague Spring event will be taking place in 2023! This celebration of IB student global citizenship encapsulates all we have aimed to foster through CAS Trips, and we could not be happier to have the opportunity to host it in Prague, Czech Republic.
Throughout a dynamic 8-day program, students from around the world will have the chance to come together and cultivate new friendships and passions while engaging in activities that allow them to live the attributes of the IB Learner Profile. We have carefully crafted every detail of our Prague Spring itinerary to offer our students what we believe has the potential to be a genuinely life-changing experience.

Nurturing globally-minded world citizens
Despite the reopening of schools, many students have not had the chance to meet their international peers in person. Our mission with Prague Spring 2023 is to celebrate being together and emphasize the real power of what it means to be a global citizen. Therefore, we have designed the program to maximize interaction, offering a wide range of group activities and various opportunities for students to work together to tackle engaging challenges. Of course, the trip also boasts plenty of time for reflection, fun, and socializing.
This is the first event of its kind since before the pandemic and will bring together hundreds of students from IB World Schools in every corner of the planet to engage with global issues and intercultural collaboration in a unique 7-night program of Creativity, Activity, and Service experiences.
An itinerary to inspire self-discovery, collaboration, and the cultivation of new ideas
We have packed a lot into eight days, and from a Sustainable Design Challenge to yoga and street art workshops and organic urban farming—there is something for everyone. This is an opportunity for students to hone in on existing interests while discovering new ones.
As always, our partner organizations in Prague will ensure that students get to appreciate the city through the eyes of the people who call this place home. With activities like a homeless-led walking tour and a night tour of Prague Castle, trip attendees will walk away with a unique perspective on the city.
Digging into the full breadth of Czech culture, the trip also includes a day trip to Kutna Hora and the legendary Bone Chapel, a classical music concert, and a disco night. As always, we have a CAS Project Challenge and ensure ample time for reflection and the chance for self-directed discovery.

History, culture, and sustainability come together in the heart of Europe
Anyone who has visited the Golden City of Prague will tell you of its magic, and it is our CAS Trips flagship student travel destination for a reason. Set on the majestic River Vltava, Prague is home to some of the world’s most beautiful and diverse architecture.
The history of Prague is also fascinating. This city has seen a lot, and it provides an incredible backdrop for on-site educational travel — from learning about World War I and World War II and Nazism and Communism to engaging with important social issues and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our Prague Spring program taps into all of this and provides a plethora of options to inspire and motivate students to delve deeper into the true meaning of CAS.
Accommodation and Camp Structure
Prague Spring 2023 will be based at the highly-rated PLUS Prague hostel, set in Prague’s artistic Holešovice district. Equipped with an on-site restaurant, games room, lounges, volleyball court and even a swimming pool, the spacious hostel will house students in 4, 6, 8 or 10-bed single-gender dorm rooms. Accompanying teachers will be housed in private single or twin rooms on site or hotel rooms elsewhere in central Prague.
Throughout the 7-night experience, students from all over the world will be assigned an ‘activity’ group of approximately 20 students from all over the world. Led by one of our expert team of CAS Trips Tour Leaders, activity groups will experience it all as they collaborate together to tackle our sensational 8-day CAS program. Separately a team of on-site CAS Trips Monitors will lead the evening and morning programs, while the Prague Spring Camp Director will oversee all the daily logistics and organization.
Experience Prague with a safe, supportive, and dynamic team to guide you
With so much to see and do, we understand the importance of having the right people on hand to facilitate this experience. As with each of our trips, all Prague Spring CAS Trips Tour Leaders are fully qualified, full-time guides with years of experience managing big groups. All are university-educated native or fluent English speakers with current CPR and First Aid certificates.
The high ratio of 1:10 students to staff members ensures every student can absorb the best of the experience in a safe environment. In addition, a team of live-in CAS Trips Mentors is in charge of pastoral care. During the student trip, parents will be provided with 24h telephone numbers of the Camp Director and their child’s group monitor, detailed timetables, and access via CAS Connect.
