The Whole World in One City
Meet, collaborate and engage with students from every corner of the world in this action-packed program of C-A-S projects and challenges set in the most dynamic city on planet earth – New York!
It would be difficult to find a more appropriate and relevant location to host a CAS Trip Global Student Exchange than The Big Apple! From the restaurants of Little Italy to the markets of Chinatown and bright lights on Broadway, the impact of multiculturalism on New York can be seen, heard, smelled and felt on every block.
In this epic 7-day New York adventure, students will engage with charities, NGOs, creative projects and community organizations to understand, interact and make a genuine difference to some of the real issues affecting modern-day New Yorkers.
Of course, any trip to NYC would not be complete without exploring the theaters, avenues and shops of Manhattan. Students will also participate in dynamic Service Challenges, working in cooperation with locals to give back to the community through combating homelessness, cooking with refugee chefs, maintaining vital urban community gardens and much, much more.
The CAS Trips Way
Designed by teachers for students, CAS Trips is re-defining educational travel.
Engaging the International Baccalaureate’s 7 Learning Outcomes, CAS Trips introduces students to incredible new cultures whilst striving to develop conscientious young global citizens. Through our CAS Connect! students, parents and teachers can keep track of all the essential trip information in our easy-to-use online user portal.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
Students will work collaboratively to tackle fascinating CAS projects and challenges to make a real difference to society and the environment. Working with local & international charities and NGOs, students will confront the UN’s SDGs with hands-on activities and exciting team challenges.
Sustainable Travel
One of our key sustainability measures entails meticulously calculating each participant’s carbon footprint via South Pole, and offsetting all trip-generated emissions via Stand For Trees’ VSC-certified projects around the world.
Carbon offsetting is the process of compensating for carbon dioxide emissions arising as a result of travel, by participating in schemes designed to make equivalent reductions of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Each New York Autumn participant will be doing their part in traveling sustainably by carbon offsetting their CO2 emissions at a cost of €20/$25 per person.

NYC Autumn will be hosted at North America’s biggest hostel, HiNYC Hostel. Located in Manhattan’s famous Upper West Side, just two blocks from Central Park and a two-minute walk to the Subway, HiNYC is the ideal setting for CAS Trips’ Global Student Exchange. The hostel’s facilities are world class, with a huge communal garden, games rooms, free WiFi access, exclusive CAS Trips event spaces, 24/7 reception and much more!
Students will share 12,10, 8, 6 or 4-bed single gender dorms. Teachers will be housed in shared adult rooms, although upgrades to private occupancy rooms can be organized for a surcharge, subject to availability. Please note, that all dietary requirements can be catered for if specified in advance.
We offer students the chance to taste the delicious global flavours of NYC, from China town to Little Italy.

Visa information
The majority of countries require a visa (ESTA) to enter the United States of America. Please ensure that all students who require a visa have requested it before the departure. CAS Trips does not offer visa processing services. We do, however, provide official letters of invitation and accommodation confirmation letters for participants applying for a visa.
Still unsure about your visa requirements for visiting USA? We have compiled a comprehensive Q&A info sheet, which you can view and download (PDF) by clicking here.
For teachers
Although adult accompaniment is not obligatory, we welcome the participation of teachers.
As educators and expedition leaders, we understand the stresses of organizing and traveling with students groups and that’s why we offer teachers FREE places!
Limited spaces are available so apply today!
