Global Student Conference: The 5 Ws

By November 21, 2019November 25th, 2019No Comments

We have been talking about the Global Student Conference for quite some time now, so we thought we would provide you with an overview of this unique student trip.

We have taken the simple process of the 5 Ws and converted it into a blog post that will clarify what the Global Student Conference is, and why you and your students should go.

You! We are looking for students between the age of 13 to 18 who are interested in joining a one-week academic camp. Are you a teacher with a group of engaged students that are eager to learn and passionate about tackling the climate crisis?

Sign up to our Global Student Conference 2020! Unlike our customized destination trips, the Global Student Conference also welcomes individual students or a group of friends that wish to join without a teacher or parent.

Our academic conference series engages global student citizens in plenary sessions and workshops with leading academics and influencers to tackle the most pressing global issue of our time: The Climate Crisis: Innovation, Impact, Action

The conferences are closely aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and challenges students on both an academic and interpersonal level to collaborate in the creation of an impactful long-term CAS Trips Changemakers Challenge project back home.

When & Where

The Global Student Conferences are scheduled during the summer months and take place in Asia, Europe and the USA.

Singapore: 6-11 July, 2020

Edinburgh: 20-25 July, 2020

Boston: 2-8 August, 2020

Some years ago, the IB Organization developed a program called World Student Conference. However, after successfully  running it for a number of years, the IB Organization decided to discontinue the summer program.

Since CAS Trips is founded on the principles of the IB and CAS, we thought it would be a great opportunity to revive and continue this unique initiative that benefits students from around the world.

We also pride ourselves on the importance of sustainable educational travel, so hosting a student conference that aims to find solutions to the climate crisis felt quite natural.

Our first Global Student Conference in Edinburgh this year was a great success, and we are very much looking forward to next year’s conference series.
