During our CAS trip to Prague, I had the opportunity to engage in a range of activities that pushed me beyond my comfort zone, allowed me to explore a new culture, and deepened my understanding of service, creativity, and collaboration. The experience was not only enjoyable but also meaningful in ways that contributed to my personal development and the CAS learning outcomes. One of the highlights was participating in group challenges that emphasized teamwork and communication. Whether it was navigating city-wide scavenger hunts, creating street performances, or collaborating on art-based activities, I learned the importance of listening to others’ ideas and adapting to different roles within a team.

These tasks helped strengthen my leadership skills and showed me how creativity can thrive when diverse perspectives come together. Another key part of the trip involved service-oriented activities, such as working with local communities or learning about social initiatives in Prague. These experiences offered a new perspective on global issues and made me think critically about the impact we can have, even in small ways. It was humbling and eye-opening to witness how acts of service are approached in different cultural contexts.

Exploring Prague itself was incredibly inspiring—its architecture, history, and atmosphere sparked a lot of creative thinking and reflection. I found myself more mindful and appreciative of different ways of life, which aligns with CAS’s aim to develop international-mindedness. Overall, this trip helped me grow not just as a student, but as a global citizen. I returned feeling more connected to my peers, more aware of the world around me, and more confident in my ability to contribute meaningfully to my community. It was a valuable experience that I will carry with me beyond the CAS programme.
